About Lacy

I’m a North Carolinian that now calls Northern Virginia home

I grew up in a creative home - my mom, aunts, cousins and grandparents were all intentional about creating spaces for connection and hospitality in their own playful, classic and fun ways. Whether a beautiful Easter table setting, sweetly wrapped Christmas presents, or a special craft project, we were always encouraged to create. In the mid 90s, my mom started to design and make our family Christmas card each year, including a poem focused on different themes from scripture.

When I was in high school, she decided to print one of my art projects on the card, starting what would become a fun tradition of mother-daughter card creation each Christmas season. I picked up various creative hobbies over the years (often inspired by my mom!), until in 2019 when my sister’s engagement sparked a desire to build a more intentional and structured way to create tangible memories that tell people’s stories – and Lacy Reid Creative was born!

My Story

I’m a North Carolinian that now calls Northern Virginia home. I spend my days working for a global anti-trafficking organization that I love, and my free time creating. I find inspiration from my community, my family and my travels, particularly in Kenya.

I care about connecting with people and understanding their story, and believe that we were designed to be in community with each other. Vulnerability is a scary thing, and I'm a believer that intentionally and creatively marking moments of deep meaning and connection helps us to imprint them on our hearts and feel known by others.

Whether it's through creating a special meal around a table, celebrating a milestone event or creating a visual representation of a meaningful place or words, I think that we were designed to create goodness and beauty for and because of each other.

 More About Me

I’m named after my great-great uncle and my great-great grandmother, and I’ve always loved the history of my name and learning more about my family. My family is a huge part of why I started Lacy Reid Creative!

I’d almost always choose the mountains over the beach! I grew up spending summer weekends in the North Carolina mountains with my cousins, and went to school in the Shenandoah Valley in Virginia
